Laying the foundation for this travel adventure blog, I thought I would set out with our travel itinerary as it is today, with most of our plans framed out for our 16 day Alaskan Adventure, by RV.
We arrive in Fairbanks on Friday, August 27 and leave on Monday, September 13. We plan on spending time throughout Alaska including several National Parks (Denali, Lake Clark, Kenai Fjords and Wrangell-Elias), fishing ports of call out of Soldotna & Ninilchik and even some time taking in the Alaska State Fair where mondo sized vegetables vie for prizes and world records.
In addition to seeing Alaska by land, we are also going to see it from the air (Denali NP with K2 out of Talkeetna and Lake Clark NP with Natron) and boat (Mahay's Riverboats, Knik Glacier Tours and Kenai Fjords Tours).
All in all, our travels will take us nearly 1,300 miles by RV over the course of our 14-15 days on the road. Look for regular blog posts (with photos) from the road as internet access allows.
